Gora Kadan signed a memorandum of agreement for a jointly operated sushi restaurant with three Michelin-star restaurant, Sushi Yoshitake, to open in the summer of 2023

On October 15th, 2022, Gora Kadan (Location: Hakone-machi, Kanagawa Prefecture, President and CEO: Ryutaro Hashimoto) signed a basic agreement with Sushi Yoshitake (Location: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Owner: Masahiro Yoshitake), a famous restaurant in Ginza that has been awarded three stars by Michelin Guide Tokyo for 12 consecutive years.

We will continue to make preparations for the opening of the sushi restaurant in the summer of 2023.

We have invited Masahiro Yoshitake, who continues to evolve Edomae sushi, to offer the profound world of nigiri sushi, a traditional element of Japanese food culture and representative of the intangible cultural heritage of Japan, on the premises of Gora Kadan, one of the leading ryotei ryokans in Japan. We invite you to experience the only refined sushi jointly offered by these two leading Japanese hotel and restaurant firms.

Sushi Yoshitake

We value tradition, innovation, and beautiful craftsmanship in pursuit of the finest of Edomae sushi.

Sushi Yoshitake opened in Ginza in 2010 and has been awarded three stars by Michelin Guide Tokyo for 12 consecutive years. The owner, Masahiro Yoshitake, has received high praise for his uncompromising Edomae sushi. Sushi Shikon, produced by Sushi Yoshitake, opened in Hong Kong in 2013 and has been awarded three stars by Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau for 9 consecutive years.

The sushi, made with a new sensibility while preserving tradition, is the ultimate in sophistication, combining carefully selected sushi rice with vinegar, which is an evolution of the red vinegar handed down from the Edo period; seasonal ingredients procured from all over Japan; and wasabi (Japanese horseradish). The restaurant continues to attract gourmets from around the world with its ever-evolving Edomae nigiri sushi.

Gora Kadan

An inn that combines the ancient Japanese atmosphere with modern expression.

Gora Kadan is a ryotei ryokan nestled in the beautiful natural setting of Hakone. The inn was originally built as a summer villa for the Kan-in-no-miya family, one of the four royal families of the Edo period, and established in 1952. The modern architecture, built on a site of approximately 17,000㎡ that showcases the beauty of each season, is an open space where one can feel in tune with nature. In 1991, the hotel became a member of Relais & Chateaux, a world-renowned hotel and restaurant group, after undergoing a rigorous selection process. In 2002, the hotel was awarded the Welcome Trophy, which is given to establishments that provide a high level of customer satisfaction and a high standard of service. It was chosen from among the 469 establishments (at that time) worldwide that were members of Relais & Chateaux. It is highly regarded by distinguished guests from Japan and abroad.
