Torrance, Calif. – November 25, 2020 – XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., in conjunction with Marvelous Inc. and Marvelous Europe Limited, today announced that Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin has sold over 500,000 copies globally. The game’s performance at launch is one of the bestsellers for the company, and the celebrated success reflects digital sales and sell-in figures for retail product which is largely sold out. The action platformer and rice cultivation title from indie developer Edelweiss launched in North America on November 10, in Japan on November 12, and in Europe on November 20 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Nintendo Switch™ system, and Windows PC via Steam.

Developed by Edelweiss and published for the Nintendo Switch™ system and PS4™ system in North America and globally on Windows PC by XSEED Games, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin launched on November 10. The title is available with a standard digital edition on the Nintendo eShop, PlayStation®Store and PC via Steam for $39.99, and with digital deluxe version on the PlayStation®Store and Steam available for $49.99 and $54.99 respectively. The retail versions on the PS4™ system and Switch™ system are also available for purchase in a standard and limited “Divine Edition” for $39.99 and $59.99, respectively, on the XSEED Games Store and participating retailers. The title has received an ESRB rating of “T for Teen” by the ESRB for all platforms.
